The mental model:

• Brand Generator is a one-shot purchase. You pay once, you own the kit. If you need a second brand later, you pay $8.99 again. There is nothing recurring.
• Looka is a subscription for ongoing access. The annual plan keeps your brand kit, social templates, and editor available for the year. If you cancel, your access to certain assets and edits goes away.

If you launch one product per year, our math favors Brand Generator: $8.99 versus $96 per year. If you launch ten brands per year and want a single editor for all of them, Looka's $96 yearly Brand Kit subscription becomes cheaper than ten $8.99 kits ($89.90 vs $96, almost a wash) and has the editing tools we lack. What Is in the Brand Kit

Both tools deliver a "brand kit" but the contents differ.

If you are picking based on raw asset count, Looka wins. They have years of design output and a deeper template library, especially for printed materials and social posts.

Where Looka is genuinely strong. Logo variety is broader. Their icon library has more options. Their business card mockups look polished out of the box. Where Brand Generator is genuinely strong. Cohesion across the kit. Where both are imperfect. Neither product matches a senior brand designer working with you for six weeks. AI brand generators are excellent for v1 and acceptable for v2. For a Series A rebrand, hire a person.

When Looka Is the Right Choice

Pick Looka if any of these apply:

For small business owners who want a polished editor, business cards, and an ongoing template library, Looka is a stronger choice.
